Enhanced Performance Exhaust System for the Colorado 4x4 Turbo Diesel

Like many contemporary 4x4 turbo diesels, the Colorado is equipped with a notably restrictive factory exhaust system. Our seasoned exhaust technicians quickly identified the potential for performance enhancement by installing a more efficient exhaust system. Following meticulous testing, we determined that a 3” exhaust system provides the optimal solution for the Colorado, delivering superior power and torque, rapid turbo spooling, and a significant reduction in exhaust gas temperatures.

Upon fitting the Colorado with the upgraded exhaust system, we observed an approximate 5 – 10% increase in power and torque, alongside a substantial decrease in exhaust gas temperatures. This opened up the opportunity for further power augmentation through careful adjustment of the fuelling and boost, capitalising on the larger exhaust size while maintaining the Colorado's safety parameters.

This advanced tuning is executed via a STING remap, or re-flash of the factory ECU, allowing us to fine-tune a wide range of parameters, with a focus on either power or economy. The results have been remarkable, with gains of up to 40% more torque and a significant increase in responsiveness from just off idle.
