Manta 3" Exhaust System for 3.0L GU Patrol

The Manta 3" Exhaust System is a popular enhancement for the 3.0L GU Patrol. This turbo diesel engine, known as the ZD30, was first introduced in the Patrol in 2000, replacing the previous 2.8L 6-cylinder engine. It was later upgraded in 2008 with a common rail fuel injection system. While the power figures of 118kw and 380nm may seem impressive on paper, the reality is that the power delivery is quite "peaky", requiring high revs before the power and torque become readily available.

The primary reason for this subpar power delivery, and a contributing factor to the high exhaust gas temperatures often observed in these vehicles, is the restrictive factory exhaust system. This system chokes the turbo, preventing the engine from operating at its optimum efficiency and leading to heat build-up.
